There are probably quite a few companies with the logo: “The Power of Imagination”. Napoleon Hill famously said, “The beginning, as you will observe, is in your imagination”.
The noun, imagination, is derived from another noun, image and connotes the process of forming images in the mind. In so doing, one draws pictures, so to say, of what could be. These pictures eventually materialize into reality. Thus, from imagination to reality.
It is the same with conscious dreaming – imagining what one desires to come true. We can say, it is the beginning of becoming.
Now, think of all this in terms of transformation. There is the necessity to dream, and to dream big, because small dreams beget mediocrity. But too often we are afraid to dream, especially to dream big, due to various reasons: Fear of failure or even success; acquiescence to handed down mindset; not believing in oneself; absence of positive examples from others and so on.
All the same, there cannot be achievement without dreams, imagination, images in the mind. This is, without exception, personal. As Edgar Degas pointed out, “It is very well to copy what one sees, but it is far better to draw what one now only sees in one’s memory. That is transformation in which imagination collaborates with memory”.
So, imagine, dream and draw big pictures of what is to be, to begin its realization.
